Now that Gillian and her cousin, Bella, are four years old.....they have become pretty good pen pals. They write each other notes and practice words and sentences. Who knew that this would become such a BIG DEAL.... Here is a typical picture of Gillian getting and reading her letter from Bella. PS - she also got flowers from Daddy on this particular afternoon!
Gabby was asked to sing with a group that was doing music for a special evening. A "Night to Stand with Israel" is a special night set up in this area once a year. It is a relations building/bridging program to help Jewish and Christian people come together. There were many community leaders from the Jewish community as well as politicians and Christian leaders. Gabby had to learn some Hebrew to be a part of this song. It was a challenge for her.
(Gabby's part starts around the 2:45 mark)
On Columbus day, we visited the Pine Bush Preserves near our home. It is one of the best remaining examples of an inland pine barrens ecosystem in the world. The educational department was hosting a creepy crawly craft day. One of the crafts that the girls did involved using ash from the controlled fires to manage the pine bush. The ash was turned into a pasty black paint...and the kids got to use straws to blow it across the paper. They really came up with some cool creations.
Gabby went to her first swim meet with the Blue Wave team. She swam 25 freestyle and 25 backstroke.....that is one length of the pool for each stroke (non swimmer translation).
We are definitely feeling the Halloween love over here....we have been getting packages in the mail. We have opened them and displayed the contents on the coffee table all week so that we could enjoy their goodness. Thank you, thank you, thank you! We very much appreciate all that you have given us. xoxoxo
