Aunt Mandy, Uncle Steve, and Luke came up to visit for Memorial Day weekend. We drove up to Saratoga and visited the Saratoga National Historical Park, Saratoga National Cemetery, the Saragtoga Monument, and The Schuyler House.

The Schuyler house above was owned by Philip Schuyler during the Revolutionary War. He was third in command under George Washington. Many famous Americans have stayed/visited this house including George Washington and Alexander Hamilton.
The play doh is out almost 24-7 over here. It is fun for the girls and we get so many wonderful creations....like this interesting Horse head made by Gabby. You should have seen what his body looked like...very cool. I love it when they pressed the colors together to come up with new colors....and patterns. We are so not down with keeping the colors separate. Gillian would say, "That is so boring". This is her new sassy coment that we have been trying to drop like a bad habit. Gillian created this wonderful thing that she called = Salad. I said, "Oh, you made me a delicious tossed salad?" She said, "Not a tossed salad, just a walking one".
The girls had their end of the year program at Cal Tab. We didn't get a lot of great pictures, because Dave and I were both on stage with classes. Here are a couple that we did catch...the girls with some of their teachers. Gilli's (3 & 4 yr) class did three small skits about Samuel. Gabby's class made a video/sang some songs.
Gillian had an end of the year show at her 3 year old preschool. We have loved it so much this year. It has really been a fun, warm, and loving place. She can't wait to go back and be in the four year old class next year. They started off with the pledge during the opening. They sang so much for us, I felt like we got a full concert....there were props and everything. Then we went down for an art show. Many of the students' end of the year projects were displayed around the school. The funniest part was when the students gave gifts to Mrs. Booth and Mrs. Kelly. We got some aprons from Williams Sonoma with the teacher's names embroidered on, and the students put their handprints and names on the aprons. Mrs. Kelly has always wished that she had a painting apron. We heard her make comments many time this year about how she just needed to get one because they paint almost everyday at school with the children. When she opened her gift, her face was worth a million dollars.
Gabby had a talent show at her school recently. The kids all had to try out...and then there was about an hour and a half of different acts....so many talented students. It was a lot of fun. Gabby sang "Castle on a Cloud" from Les Miserables.
PS - Sorry about the shaking camera....I was more nervous than she was!
The girls had their dance recital last night. It was a big fun show. Here are a couple numbers that we video taped last night. Gabby is doing ballet to "Dance of the Reed Flutes" from the Nutcracker. Gillian did a special number since her class is the youngest entering the school. They did a special dance with the girls getting ready to graduate. Also, the theme for the night was "The top ten reasons I love to dance....." Ten students were chosen to announce their reason for dancing. Gabby got to give #8. Gillian's reason was chosen to be given on the DVD. (Gillian comes out with her partner second and Gabby is in the third row of ballerinas to enter the stage - front and center)
The dancers entered the theatre for rehearsal....

Until next time.........
Here are couple things that have taken place in the last week. We received a lovely/delicious cookie bouquet in the mail from Grammy for doing so well on at our recital! Thanks....it was better than flowers. We planted a little thyme in our backyard....a gift for me from Gabby's class for volunteering during first grade. Gabby got her hair chopped off right after her recital....she was very happy and excited to have a neck with no hair. Settle down....any of you who may be upset by this. It (the hair) will all be back by Christmas.
