Niska Day

Gabby marched in our town parade with her school and there was a town festival/fireworks to celebrate all day long.....
PS - If you can't tell, there was a cowboy theme for the day.

Bridging to Brownies

Gabby completed Daisy Girl Scouts last week, and her troop bridged to Brownies. This was her first year in GS. She loved it. However....she thought that becoming a Brownie meant that instead of selling cookies....she had to sell brownies.

Memorial Day 10

Aunt Mandy, Uncle Steve, and Luke came up to visit for Memorial Day weekend. We drove up to Saratoga and visited the Saratoga National Historical Park, Saratoga National Cemetery, the Saragtoga Monument, and The Schuyler House.

Play Doh creations

The play doh is out almost 24-7 over here. It is fun for the girls and we get so many wonderful creations....like this interesting Horse head made by Gabby. You should have seen what his body looked like...very cool. I love it when they pressed the colors together to come up with new colors....and patterns. We are so not down with keeping the colors separate. Gillian would say, "That is so boring". This is her new sassy coment that we have been trying to drop like a bad habit. Gillian created this wonderful thing that she called = Salad. I said, "Oh, you made me a delicious tossed salad?" She said, "Not a tossed salad, just a walking one".

End of the year Core

The girls had their end of the year program at Cal Tab. We didn't get a lot of great pictures, because Dave and I were both on stage with classes. Here are a couple that we did catch...the girls with some of their teachers. Gilli's (3 & 4 yr) class did three small skits about Samuel. Gabby's class made a video/sang some songs.

Gilli's Show

Gillian had an end of the year show at her 3 year old preschool. We have loved it so much this year. It has really been a fun, warm, and loving place. She can't wait to go back and be in the four year old class next year. They started off with the pledge during the opening. They sang so much for us, I felt like we got a full concert....there were props and everything. Then we went down for an art show. Many of the students' end of the year projects were displayed around the school. The funniest part was when the students gave gifts to Mrs. Booth and Mrs. Kelly. We got some aprons from Williams Sonoma with the teacher's names embroidered on, and the students put their handprints and names on the aprons. Mrs. Kelly has always wished that she had a painting apron. We heard her make comments many time this year about how she just needed to get one because they paint almost everyday at school with the children. When she opened her gift, her face was worth a million dollars.

Art Festival

Our town had an art festival a couple weekends ago. We got a letter in the mail that a piece of Gabby's art work from school was submitted by an art teacher. We went to the fair and found this cute little guy that she made a couple months ago hanging in the gallery.

Outrageous Outfit Day

The students do an alpahbet countdown for the last 26 days of school. When they got to the letter "o"....they were to wear an outrageous outfit.....This is what Gabby chose for clothes and hair.

End of the Year

Gillian had her last day of 3 yr old preschool on Thursday. It was bittersweet.

Carnival at School

We attended the end of the year family carnival at Gabby's school. Radio Disney came this year and really got all the kids and parents to rock out. It was just fun to hang out with families/friends and teachers.

Dress Rehearsal

This is the week of ballet dress rehearsals and the end of the year recital. The girls can't wait to get out on stage and do their routines with their classes. They look adorable in their little pink tutus. Their outfits even match....total coincidence.

Girl Scout Ceremony

Some of the older Girl Scouts in our town were being awarded the bronze, silver, and gold awards. Gabby had the opportunity to be part of the flag ceremony. It was a great way for her to see what lies ahead if she wants to continue in Girl Scouts.

Talent Show

Gabby had a talent show at her school recently. The kids all had to try out...and then there was about an hour and a half of different acts....so many talented students. It was a lot of fun. Gabby sang "Castle on a Cloud" from Les Miserables.
PS - Sorry about the shaking camera....I was more nervous than she was!

Recital videos

The girls had their dance recital last night. It was a big fun show. Here are a couple numbers that we video taped last night. Gabby is doing ballet to "Dance of the Reed Flutes" from the Nutcracker. Gillian did a special number since her class is the youngest entering the school. They did a special dance with the girls getting ready to graduate. Also, the theme for the night was "The top ten reasons I love to dance....." Ten students were chosen to announce their reason for dancing. Gabby got to give #8. Gillian's reason was chosen to be given on the DVD. (Gillian comes out with her partner second and Gabby is in the third row of ballerinas to enter the stage - front and center)

Lunch Date

These two dance/ice skating/future classmate buddies got together for lunch and play last week. They ended up doing crafts and making construction paper creations for a couple hours. Then it was onto playing house for a couple hours. Good friends are awesome!

Got Thyme for an Update?

Here are couple things that have taken place in the last week. We received a lovely/delicious cookie bouquet in the mail from Grammy for doing so well on at our recital! Thanks....it was better than flowers. We planted a little thyme in our backyard....a gift for me from Gabby's class for volunteering during first grade. Gabby got her hair chopped off right after her recital....she was very happy and excited to have a neck with no hair. Settle down....any of you who may be upset by this. It (the hair) will all be back by Christmas.
