Boston in the Fall

We had a trip to Boston this weekend....in the Fall. Gabby really loves a Veggie Tales song that talks about going to the Boston in the Fall. She was glad to get a chance to do that. She and Gillian are such good travelers. Gabby watched her new Barbie movie on the way up. Here are some pictures from the trip to Boston and the hotel. Gabby got to swim and pretend that she was a mermaid. Daddy was a merman. Angela came to visit and meet Gillian. Later we went for lunch with Angela and Audrianna, before Aunty La's wedding. Aunt Amanda and many others were there, too. They weren't in these pictures.

La and Manny are Married!

La looked beautiful, and she made the flowers herself. Gabby loved the rose that she got at the wedding, but she wondered what it would be like to hold La's.

Gabby gives Aunty La a hug, and then she goes outside with her cousin, Audrianna, and Papa

Steve, Amanda, and Meme stop to pose with the bride and groom. Giovanna runs around as Gabby and Audrianna try to get her attention. Aren't they gorgeous!

The girls stop to take a few pictures before driving to the reception.

First day of Preschool

Gabby started preschool at Tiny Tots today. She had a great time. They colored, did a project, had circle time, play time, and snack time. She loved it. Her teachers are Ms. Roe and Ms. Liz. She goes two mornings a week for two hours each day. She did a project where she had to choose hair and accessories that created her own face, and she did a coloring sheet. The teachers said that she colored well. She was concentrating and working so hard on her coloring page. Take a look at her handy work.

Willowbrook Pumpkin Festival

We took the girls to a pumpkin festival on the Island, today. Gabby rode the carousel with Aunt Lena. We also visited the pumpkin patch and painted pumpkins. We posed Gillian and Isabella with the baby pumpkin that Gabby picked. They were a little too small to paint. The parks department of NYC had a marionette show for the children. It was really cute and well done. There were three stories told....The Princess and the Pea, The Emporer's New Clothes, and the Ugly Duckling. Gabby liked the Princess and the Pea the best.

Sitting up!

Gillian has almost mastered the sitting up hurdle. She figured out how to use her hands to prop herself up in the front. We have to stay close because she still has the occasional jerk backward for no reason. Take a look.....

Our little girl is five months old. We can hardly believe how fast these months have gone. She is a dream baby. Here are her latest portrait shots.

Peek a Boo

Gillian loves to grab her burp rags and put them on her head and face. She has learned to play peek a boo. This is her new favorite game. Dave caught this picture and we thought it was hysterical.

Sara came to visit

Sara....our long lost friend, came to visit this weekend for some pumpkin fun. For those who do not know Sara, she was mommy's room mate during her undergraduate work at Valley Forge. There were pumpkin truffles from Godiva, pumpkin creme brulee from La Strada, and girls in pumpkin colored dresses.....By the way, Sara turns 32 on October 18! Happy Birthday, Sara!

Bring a Friend Day

Gabby was allowed to bring a friend to dance class today. She asked her friend, Gianna, to come. They had a great time playing "Ballerina".

Gillian Bunny

Gillian has been hopping around in her jumper like a little bunny. She loves this thing. She would jump all day in it. However, Gabby thinks that it is a swing. She wants Gillian to go really high.

Costumes

A lot of people have been asking what the girls are going as for Halloween. Well....here is the unveiling if you didn't already know. Gabby wanted to be DeeDee Doodlebop. She is a singer, dancer, and musician from the Doodlebop show on Disney. She also will be a lamb when we go to outdoor festivals/parties that are cold. This lamb outfit was made by my aunt (Becky Mattivi). Isn't it adorable. Gillian is going as a Lion. She also has a ladybug costume that Gabby wore for her first Halloween. You will probably see pictures of that later in the month. There are a couple pictures of Gillian and Isabella (Dave's sister's baby). Isabella is going as a very fashionable chick. They are all sooooo cute!

Decker's Farm

Yes...this type of farmland still exists in NYC. We took a trip to Decker's farm today. The girls had a great time with the chickens, caterpillars, hay rides, and pumpkins. Gabby was really impressed by the greenhouses, and she wanted to know if she could live in one. Even though the weather looks beautiful, it was chilly. Here are some cute shots.

Ft. Wadsworth

We went to Ft. Wadsworth to see some of the old forts because it was such a nice day. During the Revolutionary war, the British captured Staten Island unopposed. The British controlled Staten Island until the end of the war. Here are some pictures of Dave and Gabby having fun.

Zoo Spooktacular

The Zoo had a Dress up night, and we took the girls. The part that Gabby liked the best was the life sized Candyland section. There were lots of games and funny displays. It was great because they kept all the scary stuff on one side of the zoo. We didn't venture into that part.

Just in time

Gabby had a trip to Dr. Shakin's today. This is a picture of Gabby and Christine. She has been cleaning our families teeth for years. Gabby had her teeth cleaned just in time to receive an obscene amount of candy at her dance class party.

Historic Richmondtown

Grammy brought all the girls to Historic Richmondtown today.

Instead of bobbing for apples, the children had to bite an apple from a suspended string.

The babies had a blast wondering why we were making them look at apples.

Carving Pumpkins

The girls picked out pumpkins today. Gabby dug out the pumpkins and helped Daddy carve the front letters. Gillian had a great time watching from her exersaucer.

Fall Traditions

Since Gabriella was born, it has been the familiy tradition to carve a letter from her name into the pumpkin instead of the traditional jack-o-lantern. This year Gabby had to carve the letter "R". She has now carved "G" in 2003, "A" in 2004, "B" in 2005, and "R" in 2006. This was Gillian's first pumpkin, so she carved her "G". Eventually around the year....2024, Gabby will be finished with her entire name. Gillian will be finished in the year 2026. Let's hope they continue to play our game. Here are the pumpkins from this year along with Gabby's first three.

No Tricks....just Treats

We took Gabby to preschool this morning, and she had a party. She got so much candy that she said she didn't need to go out for more. I think that was the first time that sentence was uttered by any child in the history of the world. We went to Milena and Tony's neighborhood later in the afternoon. Gillian, Isabella, and Gabby got a lot of goodies. The first house of the night was Lillian's...Isabella's super nice neighbor. There were a lot of decorations in the neighborhood. Gabby's favorite was Snow White. She was set up with a fairy tale backdrop, throne and all. She had a shiny red apple, and she was asking all the children in her Snow White voice...."Should I eat the apple?" Gabby went to her house twice.
